I coined the term RAVAD awhile back (early 2008) because I was bored one evening, and started thinking of ways to describe one of my favorite behaviors as an online marketer.
I did a bit of googling and found that the acronym also is the name of a well-known Jewish mystic and scholar from the 13th century
http://tinyurl.com/or8c9xHow cool is that?
RAVAD stands for Rapid Aggregated Virtual Asset Development
It simply means: the BEHAVIOR of going out on the internet and creating a whole bunch of stuff - blogs, authority sites, postings, comments, bookmarks, social marketing microblogs and profiles, forums (including owning them and/or participating in them and/or moderating them), contributing to things like wikiHOW and yahoo answers, and more.
The Rapid part is pretty obvious - do it quickly and do it A LOT
The Aggregated is somewhat less clear. In essence, it just means that you are BANKING on the fact that asset number 8, when paired with asset number 5, thanks to how RELATED they are and the fact they they ARE LINKED and reside on DIFFERENT SERVERS, means that there is a synergistic or aggregation effect. Just throwing out a whole bunch of assets willy nilly without having a PLAN for how they should INTERACT with each other (via referrals, linking strategies, cross-dissemination of similar ideas and purposes) is just crazy - BE THE RAVAD ARCHITECT and lay it all out BEFORE you deploy these weapons! They will be vastly more effective at promoting your direct networking business (or whatever business you are in) if you take the time to think things through first.
